As of January 2023, NetZero Africa will start operations at DaGama textiles and take over the running of the Power Station. This first phase will include efficiency upgrades to the existing Biomass boiler and HFO thermal heaters.
In addition, planning and engineering works will be carried out on the power station facility and the current coal fired boilers in preparation for the installation of two new biomass-fired boilers which will supply steam and thermal energy to the manufacturing facility, thus transitioning da Gama Textiles dependancy on coal and moving renewablefeed stock.
Further, and after installation of the second new biomass-fired boiler, an Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) Generator will be installed to produce 2-2.5 MW of green energy.
We are very excited to see the first phase of the solar array going on site next week with CVE, our solar partner.
I am very proud to be part of this exciting project and moving to sustainable renewable energy. Well done team!
